La Licorne, which the name comes from a "caravelle" ship that chased pirates from the island of Mogador in the 17th century, is located in the heart of the Essaouira medina, along the fortress walls that lead to the bronze canons of the Scala, in the cabinetmaker and marquetry craftsmen area.
Registered as a Unesco World Heritage Site, the Essaouira Medina is buzzing with life. You will discover the souk, Moroccan spice stalls, natural soaps, natural colour pigments, not forgetting the very famous Gnaoua festival which attracts thoushands of visitors each year in mid-June.
